Learn How To Start Losing Weight



If you have previously tried to lose weight, then you know how hard it is if you do not have a plan. Many people do not know where to start but there are so many things that you can do to help you achieve weight loss and one of the most important would have to be to get into a diet and exercise routine.

Goals

Set yourself a goal of how much you would like to lose and then break that down into manageable and achievable goals along the way. You will achieve success earlier this way and give yourself the impetus to keep going.

Exercise with Wii and DVD's

The best part about losing weight is that you can turn it into a game and this is what I do with my weight loss routine, I started off by purchasing a Wii plus and have great fun whilst burning off the calories. I challenge myself to lose x amount of pounds/kilograms and inches/cm every week. There are also many dance routine DVDs which many people enjoy. This way you work out without realising you are doing exercise.

Simple Exercise

If you have friends get them involved, set up a day each week to go for a walk with them or ride bikes and finish at a healthy restaurant for a fresh salad lunch. These are all ways that help you get into a weight loss routine.

Eating Plan

A healthy eating plan is also required. There are numerous such plans on the web. Most will involve cutting down on protein (meats), fatty foods and eating more fruit and vegetables.

Food Diary

It is important to write everything down. This is key when you are trying to get into shape and lose weight. Create a daily plan/diary to write down what you have eaten. It is amazing, when you look towards the end of the day, at how many calories are consumed in snacks. This is what helps the most and once you start and keep this up for a few weeks you will sure to be on the right track with your weight loss journey.

Reward Yourself

Make sure you reward yourself along the way, for the progress you have made, but not with food. Going to the hairdresser, having your nails painted, buying a new item of clothing are all great incentives to keep going.

Remember, weight loss takes time and does not happen overnight. This is why I say to start by getting into a routine of walking, exercising and eating correctly. Treat it as a lifelong program that will help you live longer and better.
